Precision. Softness. Perfection.
At Posed & Pretty, we treat the masseter muscles—the powerful muscles used for chewing—to achieve both aesthetic and functional results. By relaxing these muscles, we can slim a prominent, square jawline and provide significant relief for those who suffer from chronic teeth grinding or TMJ discomfort.
- Jawline Contouring & Slimming
When the masseter muscles are overdeveloped (hypertrophy), they can create a wide, boxy appearance at the jawline. By injecting neurotoxin, we reduce the muscle's workload, causing it to gradually shrink in size. This results in a narrower, more "V-shaped" or heart shaped appearance.
- Muscle Tension Decompression
For many, the masseters carry intense tension from grinding (bruxism) or clenching. We target the thickest part of the muscle to interrupt the signal that causes involuntary clenching. This softens the muscle’s bite force, alleviating jaw pain and tension-related headaches.
- Functional Preservation
Precision is key when treating the lower face. We ensure that the neurotoxin is placed deep within the masseter muscle and away from the muscles responsible for your smile. This allows for effective slimming and pain relief while maintaining your full ability to chew and express yourself naturally.
how we treat:
masseter muscle
What to Expect:
Process
The treatment involves a series of deeper injections directly into the masseter muscles on each side of the jaw. While the needle is fine, you may feel a slightly deeper "pressure" than with other areas. The process takes about 10 minutes, and numbing is available.
Downtime
There is no downtime associated with this procedure. Some clients may experience a slight "heavy" sensation in the jaw for a day or two as the muscle begins to relax, but this does not interfere with eating or speaking.
Results
For pain relief, results often begin within 1–2 weeks. For aesthetic jawline slimming, results take longer—typically 4–6 weeks—as it takes time for the muscle to physically slim down after being relaxed.
Longevity
Because the masseter is a large, strong muscle, results tend to last longer than other areas, typically 4–6 months. Regular treatments can lead to longer-lasting slimming effects over time.
