Precision. Softness. Perfection.

At Posed & Pretty, a lip flip is used to create the appearance of a fuller upper lip without adding physical volume or filler. We achieve this by relaxing the muscle surrounding the mouth, allowing the lip to "flip" or roll slightly upward.

  • Muscle Relaxation

The muscle that circles the mouth acts like a drawstring. By injecting small amounts of neurotoxin into the uppermost layer of this muscle, we relax the pull that causes the upper lip to thin out or "disappear" when you smile.

  • Vertical Height Enhancement

By softening the downward pull of the upper lip muscle, more of the pink mucosal tissue is revealed. This increases the vertical height of the upper lip, making it appear more prominent and defined while the face is at rest and during expression.

  • Gummy Smile Correction

For clients whose upper lip retracts significantly when smiling, this technique provides a corrective effect. The relaxation of the muscle prevents it from pulling too far upward, ensuring the lip covers more of the gum line for a more balanced smile.

lip Flip

What to Expect:

Process

The procedure involves 4 to 6 very shallow injections along the "cupid's bow" and the corners of the upper lip. It is an extremely fast process, taking less than five minutes. Because the area is sensitive, we offer numbing options to ensure comfort.

Downtime

Minimal swelling at the injection sites is expected and usually subsides within 20 minutes. You may feel a slight "tightness" in the lip area for the first few days as the muscle begins to relax.

Results

Unlike filler, which is instant, a lip flip takes 5–10 days to become visible. You will notice your upper lip staying fuller when you smile and a more defined pout at the 2-week mark.

Longevity

Because the muscles around the mouth are used constantly for speaking and eating, a lip flip typically lasts 2 months. It is often used as a standalone "mini" treatment or as a maintenance boost between filler appointments.
