Precision. Softness. Perfection.

At Posed & Pretty, we treat chin dimpling—often referred to as "orange peel" skin—by relaxing the mentalis muscle. When this muscle is hyperactive or chronically contracted, it pulls the skin of the chin inward, creating an uneven, bumpy texture.

  • Mentalis Muscle Relaxation

The mentalis is the primary muscle responsible for the upward movement of the chin and lower lip. By injecting neurotoxin into this muscle, we reduce the tension that causes the skin to bunch and dimple, resulting in a significantly flatter and smoother chin surface.

  • Softening the Mental Crease

A hyperactive chin muscle often creates a deep horizontal line between the lower lip and the chin, known as the mental crease. By relaxing the underlying muscle, we alleviate the pressure that deepens this fold, allowing the crease to soften and the lower face to appear more elongated and balanced.

  • Structural Smoothing

We focus on providing a consistent, "glass-like" finish to the chin area. By precisely dosing the tox, we eliminate the pebble-like texture without affecting your ability to move your lower lip, ensuring the chin remains smooth even during facial expressions.

chin dimpling

What to Expect:

Process

The treatment involves 1 to 2 precise injections directly into the chin muscle. The process is very fast, typically taking less than 5 minutes, and involves a small pinch. Numbing cream is provided prior to the procedure.

Downtime

There is no downtime associated with this procedure. You may experience minor redness or swelling at the injection sites that typically resolve within 15 minutes. You can return to work or daily activities immediately.

Results

The skin on the chin will begin to appear smoother within 5–7 days. By the 2-week mark, the "orange peel" texture will be fully softened, and the chin will appear more relaxed and defined.

Longevity

Results typically last 3–4 months. As the mentalis muscle regains its strength, the dimpling will gradually reappear, at which point a maintenance treatment is recommended.
